Lexus RX (03 - 09)

This RX comes in two variants, the RX300 (replaced by the RX350 in 2006) and the RX400h, which is a hybrid. Both have efficient engines and are quite fast. Initially, the RX300 was powered by a 3.0-litre V6, had 201bhp and could go from 0-60 in 8.7 seconds. When it was replaced in 2006 by the RX350, it was powered by a 3.5-litre engine, which delivered 272bhp and went from 0-60 in 7.5 seconds. The RX400h is powered by a 3.5-litre V6, and two electric motors, one for the front wheels and one for the back wheels. It can from 0-60 in 7.4 seconds and develops 269bhp.The RX does well on long journeys, with a smooth and enjoyable ride. It has decent handling and grip so it deals well with corners. Helping that is a fine suspension (air suspension or conventional coil springs). The cabin is roomy and has soft-touch materials. There is a lot of standard kit.
